Austin Healey prototype on ADO 18 base...this evening I could tell something more.

It's an MG proposal based on a Mini known as ADO35. It was a coupe version of the ADO34 designed by Pininfarina.

I was going to say you were on the right track but not correct and to see what you came up with this evening but..

..you've been pipped at the post because this is what it actually is.
I believe they just strapped a hardtop on to the convertible to produce this coupé!

I was wrong about ADO 18...I cannot remember the exact number; But I don't think I was wrong about the make that I'm convinced is Austin Healey and not MG.
On the base project, Abington designers (particularly Dick Burzi) studied the A.H. and MG versions, perhaps with the overview of Michelotti.
The pictures I add are from MG model (named ADO35) and of the roadster Austin Healey (identified both as ADO34AH and ADO36). As you can see, the quiz coupè is much more similar to the roadster than to MG.
I logically may be wrong, but this is my opinion about this car.

I've looked into this on the very well-known Aronline site and you do in fact seem to be right.
I thought all the small sports car proposals were MGs but not this one.
So I'll give you a point to compensate you for being accused of being wrong, and I'll correct the title!
My apologies.

That's the site I got my info from ! Aronline seem to believe it's an MG - all a bit odd.

Actually I got the picture from the Aronline site and it was described as an MG there; but if you look under the ADO 34 pages you'll find it described as an Austin-Healey!
I'll send you the link by PM later.

Thank you very much. :)

I feel a bit ashamed now - I got a point for the wrong answer. :bag:

Well, I could take it away but I left it because it's the answer I had as well and was the one I was looking for!
