Post by: Carnut on March 08, 2013, 07:52:51 AM
I don't know who built this but just where it's from, so that will earn 1 point.
If you know it's base too all the better..

I've actually never seen something that looks like this car...is it an home made one-off with sleeding-doors?

It's a one-off but none of the pictures I have of it show it with the doors open, so I don't know about that.
Looking at the position of the door-handles though there does look something unusual about the doors.

That could well be a description of it as it is in fact from Belarus, but I doubt if that is its name.
I'll lock it for you now for 24 hours to see if you can narrow it down a bit!

Is it Lada-based?

I wanted to answered earlier, but the car was locked.
Although the lock is still valid...

My information about this:
«Фантазия» («Fantasy»)
The car was built by Boris I. KARAVKIN (Борис Иосифович КАРАВКИН) about 30 years ago. The car was used  three engines: first - ZAZ, then – «Skoda», now uses the engine of the car Lada. «Fantasy» has a steel frame and aluminum body, rear-wheel drive, but the engine is installed on the front.
Technical characteristics: mass - 1030 kg, maximum speed - over 140 km / h, fuel consumption - 10 l/100 km.

Hang on, what's going on here?
Does anyone understand the meaning of 'Locked'?
This puzzle was locked for kwgibbs until 1523 hrs 30 sec UK time today (1623 hrs 30 sec Central European Time) and in that time kwgibbs asked a question which I didn't have chance to reply to but then others all gave answers before the time expired.  kwgibbs should at least have been given the opportunity to continue his search after I'd answered his Lada question.   The puzzle is solved but who thinks they should get the point?

I don't know, but Kytsyk was the first, in spite of the lock. I just supplement his answer.

OK, no worries,  It's only a game..!
I'll call this one Solved and move it but not sure I can bring myself to award points for it!

Here are a couple of the pictures which have 'gone missing' but welcome the re-posting of the posts that have vanished, particularly those of Otto's of how the car used to look.
