I think this one might be a re-post, so if the Rookies don't get it I may have to merge it rather than move it up to the Experts.
We'll see..

It's not actually a re-post as this is a different model from the one in the previous puzzle; hence I'm moving it to Expert level..
This really ought to be up my street, but I don't recognise it at all. French ?

It's not French, no.
The wheels look like the car is very lightweight. Is it Italian ?

No, it isn't Italian.

Not sure whether it's based on a Dixi, although there is possibly a connection..
Austin 7 engined, then ?

Austin 7 engined, then ?
No, you were closer before..
German then ?
Not French.
Not Italian.
Not German.
I was closer when I mentioned Dixi, but it's not A7 related.
Is it based on a pre-war car ?

I said I didn't know if it was based on a Dixi, ergo I don't actually know what it's based on, so I can't answer that!
But I said there might be some Dixi connection, so that must mean either it could be based on one or there could be some other connection..
Oh heck. Why did I start on this one? There's a Mustang in the background, and next to that what appears to be a Porsche 944, with W-reg British plates. So the "show" could well be in the UK.
The reference to Dixi could be BMW - is it powered by a BMW 500cc bike engine. (Grasping at straws!)
Bantam-powered
as like the BMW Dixi the prewar Bantam was a licence-built Austin Seven
It is in fact BMW-powered.
But not 500cc..

So BMW 750cc engine ?
Pro's will sort this one out in a jiffy..
Four cylinder engine?
dynamic 40 by Jan Tenora 1954
When I asked if it was 750cc, you said no. It was at the end of the day 749cc.........
You miserable git. ;D
(I would never have got it anyway)
Indeed it is the Tenora Dyamic 40 so it's a point for PJ.
The Dynamic 60 (in which Jan Tenora was tragically killed) has featured here before but not this earlier version, the 40.
Sorry about the confusion over the engine, nicanary, but I had it as a 1-litre twin-cylinder, perhaps a bored out smaller one.
I would of course have answered 'yes' to your 750? question if I'd had the information PJ has now provided.

no probs - my idea of humour !
I had a really good rear picture but it seems to have got deleted and I can't find it any more..
The picture below will have to do; the car is in fact described on flickr, where there are a few pics of it, as having a 1000cc BMW twin...
