I'll ignore the color, and guess it's from the UK (RHD)?

It looks too up-to-date to be a 50s special. I think it could be a retro recreation of that type of car - is it BMC A-Series engined ?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

It's not BMC-engined.
The main parts are all from the 1950s, but when they were all put together I'm not 100% sure: much later than the 1950s I believe!

I was looking at the interior - not exactly 1950s in style. So, is it Ford 10hp based ?

No, it doesn't have a Ford engine.

No.  The fuel filler would probably be in the front if it had..

I know my comment may have appeared a bit dumb, but I was thinking along the lines of the fuel tank being in front of the engine, with a shortened connection length.

Not Ford, not BMC. Is it a British engine ?

I would never suggest such a thing!

Yes, it is - and it's in the front!

I suppose that although it's not engined by BMC, it could be a pre-war Austin 7hp motor ?

Yes.  As I said before, the main parts are all from the UK, and I think the engine is a fairly major part!

Is the base perhaps a Jowett Jupiter?

Yes it is.
As usual your first guess is spot-on..!
I'll lock it for you until your next post or 24 hours, whichever is first, to come up with the rest of the answer.

Establishing the base car was the hard part.  Once the base is established the remainder is relatively straight forward.  The puzzle car is a: Jowett Jupiter based car called "Io" by Mike Smailes.

That's right, yes.  A very appropriate name for a Jupiter..!
But you still haven't fully answered what the car is based on for the point; Jupiter chassis and engine is correct but what about the body?
Still locked for your next reply.

Sorry, I didn't realize that you wanted the body manufacturer as well as the chassis and engine.  The body is by Nickri.

Thanks.  The body is different enough from any other Jupiters to warrant being ID'd!
