No, I don't think that it lost its bodywork in the race.  ;D

For one point, please respond and identify this vehicle.

Is this car used for Speedway racing?

This looks like a motorcycle meeting, or at least a combined car/bike meeting. I can't understand why no bodywork is thought necessary if it's a speed contest. It's not a Morgan, because there's no sign of sliding-pillar front suspension.

Is this a homebuilt car?

All I have is an old newspaper snippet naming the driver and the event where he unsuccessfully tried to start with this vehicle. I wasn't able to find out more so far.

Three-wheelers were banned from Brooklands from 1924 to 1928- this doesn't look like that track, but is it something to do with this ban?

Yes, E. C. Terni with his tricycle at Brooklands.

One more point for you.

That's a new one for me. Never knew that. (I MUST buy the "History of Brooklands"!)
