Anatoly Zaydelov from Leningrad in his self-built sportscar with Moskvich 407 engine racing in 1962.  The car is earlier than that as it also raced in 1961

The Leningrad and 1961 bits tie in with what I have but not the rest of it.
I'll lock this for you to dig into and see if you can come with the info I have, which I hope is right...!

My souce is Alexey Rogachev who is an expert on Soviet racing and host of a Russian-language website on the subject.  I have no reason to doubt what he wrote.

PM sent.

Yes, he has PM'd me the proof I needed and I've already said by PM I'll move this one tomorrow and give him his point.  Just a couple of details I want to check on my other computer first!

Well, I had it as the ZIL-112S 'Golubaya Raketa' ('Blue Rocket') shown on its first outing in Leningrad 1961.
There was a picture of it in blue to back up the contention, though in the thread D-Type sent me it quoted that the car had appeared in white and in red but never in blue..  The picture is shown below.
Reading the thread D-Type sent me however it seems clear that the Golubaya Raketa was much earlier and this car is as solved by D-Type.  Google for ZIL-112S Golubaya Raketa however and you will get pictures showing this car..

Uh..yes, this is the same car on the picture, Zaydelov's Moskvich special.
What is more, I have never heard ZIL 112S to be referred to as 'Blue Rocket' apart from in seemingly the same source as yours :P
