Not the Heron, but another one of the many Alfa-powered single-seaters from southern Africa. I'm really sorry for misleading you about the country of origin - let's just say it borders the Rainbow Nation.

The R.E. Alfa built by Ray Reed of Ray's Engineering, Gwelo (Rhodesia) driven by Peter Huson, possibly June 1966.

You've got it! It was a copy of an LDS which itself was a copy of a Cooper. The photo was taken at Kumalo track. The car was sometimes known as the Realpha.
