I think you found it... there are no relevant differences between my pic and yours (the logo?)..is your source a reliable one?
I can't believe we can finally move this to the solved section!

I know, I took these pics at the 2008 Mille Miglia:

So this IS a Rovelli?  :o I knew this car, but would never thought it was the same...

Carnut

What is this car, who built it and when?  All for 1 point!

This give me the chance to add some info:
Ing. Nino Rovelli was a friend and a schoolmate of Ing. Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni at the Politecnico of Milan, and after the war he found a full chassis and an engine of a BMW 328. He bought by Touring the body developed for the Berlin-Rome of 1941. His car was finished by a carrozzeria in Castellanza, but some sources say it was also developed by Colli. After a race in Piacenza the car was modified by Volpini, who took the german mechanicals and put it on a Fiat 1100 chassis, all in a siluro body. During 1947-48 the car was again modified by Volpini and Colli and after a race in Vercelli it was sold to Clocchiatti.
Another creation of Ing. Rovelli was this 1100 barchetta, with Testadoro engine and Castagna body, that raced the Mille Miglia with Ghiringhelli-Galli and later by Giulio Cabianca.

All these info and the pic that I will add later comes from the EXTRAORDINARY book of Andrea Curami.

The search I did was using the name 'Rovelli' as there are just so many Fiats to go through..
Needless to say this car did not show up because Rovelli is not named in the heading!
Oh well...

I'm sorry, but I don't understand.. If the name "Rovelli" does not appear in the headings it doesn't mean it does not appear at all, right? Maybe you shouldn't look after "Search in topic subjects only" next time. At least you would have found it in faksta's reply #33... ;)

Paul Jaray

I choose not to add 'Rovelli' in the title because the puzzle car should be a 1100 by Castagna, that is very close to the Castagna-bodied Rovelli. I don't know if they are the same, (I doubt it) but, once it's been linked to this puzzle, I merged them and add my info...technically speaking it was not a repost.

It does certainly look very different from the original puzzle, and when a car has been re-bodied like this might have been there could be a case for allowing it as a new puzzle.  If it was not a re-body then it wasn't a re-post, as you say.

To answer Allemano - I don't think I did ask only for headings come to think of it, as I never really do.  Still 'Rovelli' didn't come up at all - not once.

Yes that's the car,  a point for you. Apparently it was a repost (thanks dzima), my source didn't mention it being a Fiat 1100, so couldn't find it as a repost.
