Here you are a new WWB1 puzzle.
As usual the car is not that obscure but not too easy.
The following only rule is also a big clue:
I won't reveal the nationality of this maker, so you can't ask for it
-
Circa 1919 Phianna Touring Car?
-
Not that.
-
I'm sure it's not as easy as one of the Sizaire's, but I have to ask, Sizaire-Berwick?
-
Not Sizaire-Berwick.
-
Belga-Rise?
-
Not Belga-Rise.
-
European?
-
The only rule is that I can't reveal the nationality.
Your guess is very smart, since you are not asking for it.
I should not answer but If you get the only clue I tried to give, you can assume it's not from Europe. ;)
I won't answer to other geographical questions.

Sorry, it doesn't dipend on little or bigger typing...it's me that I was sleeping!
La Marne?
-
I think it's a long, long sleep you are in then ;D
There were at least 2 different La Marne, the French one (Brun et Forest, Chalons, Marne) and the American one (La Marne Motor Company, Cleveland, Ohio).
One was european (4-cyl) and the other was an Eight.
The puzzle car is not European and is a Six, as wrote before... :bonk:
-
No, this time I was awake, as I found notice about a La Marne six from Canada... ;)
-
Interesting...according to my sources, Anglo-American Motors Ltd in Trenton, Ontario was going to produce locally the Eight 85HP built by La Marne Motor Company from Cleveland but probably just one car was made there...was that a six?
Anyway is not La Marne (or Anglo-American Motors).

New York Six from about 1928?
-
Could it be an Auburn?
-
The year is wrong.
Not New York Six.
As stated before, there is just one clue that may be VERY useful if you want to name all the Six of the 20s....I suggest you to focus on that before...but I'm here to answer all your guesses, of course.
Another clue: this maker is not very obscure and it's reported in all the books covering the subject (cars of the 20s) I have.
-
Not Auburn.
Final advice: some puzzlers seem to have got the clue. ;)

Studebaker Big Six?
-
Not Studebaker.
I can't give clues or it will be too easy, but I can answer to your guesses about.
I had the feeling that some of you got it.
It will be much, much easier.
I think I made it clear but I can be wrong (and I often am) so, my suggestion is not list all the 6-cylinder cars of the 20s but ask me about the only clue...then will be a (short) rush toward the solution.
-
is the name related to the geographical location?
-
Nope...
-
Locomobile? There were Locomobiles bodied by Derham and Brewster with Rolls Royce like radiators.
-
Was this a production car, made in any significant numbers?
-
Locomobile? There were Locomobiles bodied by Derham and Brewster with Rolls Royce like radiators.
Not Locomobile.
Was this a production car, made in any significant numbers?
Every source I read about reports that probably not a single car was ever made, but the maker is regulary listed as manufacturer.
-
Stansell Six?
-
Not that...it won't take much...
-
THe Washington (named for George, not the place), from Cleveland, Ohio?
-
Not Washington...
-

-
You are not paying attention to the only clue...it's not about the name but the nationality.
I'm not going to reveal where it's from for a simple reason...a very simple reason.
-
Corinthian Six from about 1923?
-
Was there a Six too?
Anyway is not that and there was only a Six in their line up (2 different bodistyles).
-
Forster?
1920 EISEMANN MAGNETO Big Original AD. Featuring FORSTER SIX (Canada). Brooklyn
-
Bingo!! :applause:
The only rule was 'I can't reveal the nationality' because once you'll knew it was from Canada, it was a matter of minutes.
The only clue was that I could not reveal the nationality: if it was from the USoA, what kind of clue was that?
I had to say it was not from Europe to avoid you to name all the cars made in those markets where the makers are not hundreds but what was left? Australia, Canada and Asia...given the fact that Africa and South America were out of the question. The look of the car was pretty American, so Canada was a valid guess and my replies were all in this direction.
I hope I did not waste your time and you enjoied the game like I did. ;)
A well earned point for you Pal!
-
Thanks, Google Snippet view fooled me a bit, otherwise I would have found it earlier.
-
My hat is off to you Pal :hail: :hail:
That was not an easy puzzle for sure and I as well as many others put in a lot of time trying to figure it out.
Good Job My Friend................
