-
So far so good!
-
Petrol engined?

Yes, not electric or steam.

Not Spaulding.

I have uncovered two likely candidates, but can not find a photograph of either, so I'll just have to try them in alphabetical sequence. How about a 1901 Altman, which was a one off homebuilt by Henry J. Altman of Cleveland, Ohio?
-
I hope I'm not steeling the second candidates to 4popoid...but I guess Aultman, 1901.
-
No and no...
-
My second candidate is a: 1901 Bolte, an apparent one off by Thomas H. Bolte of Kearney, Nebraska?

My last candidate for a US gasoline powered car manufactured only in 1901 is a: 1901 Boisselot, by the Boisselot Automobile & Special Gasoline Motor Co. of Jersey City, New Jersey.
-
It was not produced by any manufacturer. It was a selfbuilt car completed in 1901. The works started in 1900.
-

Not there...
-
Made in the East Coast?

My current list of private individual manufacturers for the puzzle time frame has been exhausted, so I will have to try a new approach.
It has been established that the puzzle car was not manufactured on either the East or West Coast, nor in Ohio, Mississippi, or Missouri. Was the puzzle car manufactured in Pennsylvania?

1901 Dewabout, built by Thomas B. Dewhurst

-
1901 Dewabout, built by Thomas B. Dewhurst
Correct! One more point for you!
-
Was it a self-made car instead of a company product? I've never heard about this car before.
-
A one-off, built with the intention to start a car production in Kentucky, but instead of building more cars Mr Dewhurst became a car dealer.
-
It should do Dewabout 10 MPH...
