I've found 12 different Ford 1172 Specials which raced in New Zealand between 1953 and 1956, by which time they were being easily beaten by imported machinery.
Where do I start? How about the 1955 GBS/Ford of Ian Buchanan ?
Slightly, just a teeny bit older
1954. Jim Carrick ?

Jock Aitken ?

It looks very similar to John McMillan's Jackson Special, but that was powered by a Ford V8. Maybe it was first fitted with a smaller engine ?
not that

No need to apologise. I was simply guessing, which doesn't usually get you anywhere on Autopuzzles. Another interesting site for me to remember.
