Can you identify this car? I want to know who built it, for whom, when, the base car, and the girl whom it was gifted.

This car always was a favourite of mine.

Forerunner of the Ford Sportsman.

Designed by Bob Gregoire in 1945.  I believe this one was mounted on a 1946 Ford frame and was gifted to Ella Raines on 25/12/1945.  I believe there was one other one built and it was given to Henry Ford II and eventually ended up in the possession of Gregoire who owned for many years.

All you say is right, but the base car...it is not a 1946 frame, but an earlier model, a 1931 Ford A.  Anyway you obviously got the car and another point.
