What's this car called, what is it based on, from when does it date, what is said to have inspired it and who (from where) built it?  All this for 1 point!

Yes it is - very well spotted!

I'll therefore lock this for you to have one go at identifying the car fully.

So, it seems to be a Triumph Mayflower 1953 based car, realized by Blastolene Brothers or at least inspired to their jobs, and finished by Baron Margo...I confess I don't have any idea who they are.  It's called Ruby.

That's the car, car.  Apparently it was started by the Blastolene Brothers and finished off by Los Angeles artist Baron Margo.

But what inspired it?  A chastity belt?

It is said to have been inspired by the Blastolene Special (but in what way I'm not sure; certainly the quality of the work doesn't appear to be in the same league), although I understand the Blastolene Brothers also actually had something to do with building it..
