Not a Thornycroft
Electric?
Yes!
Well, after striking out in 3 languages on Google, I'll try another tactic. Is this a continental European vehicle?
Yes

Hansa Lloyd did build electric busses, but I´m not sure if this is one...
I'm sure it isn't. ;D
I'm presuming from the replies that it's not British, therefore is it German?
is it a Büssing?

I just wanted to make sure as I was convinced that this was a British forward-control gas-electric charabanc......
Is it then a Swiss E.F.A.G.?
Not Swiss

Austro-Daimler?

Austro-Daimler?
... but Austro-Daimler. Locked for you to find its (generic) name.
Marketed under the "Mercedes Electrique" marque (the first use of the name Mercedes on a vehicle).
I believe the electric motors were called "Radnabenmotor" (hub cap motor). The design principle emanated from Jacob Lohner and Ferry Porsche (I think.....).
The charabanc probably dates from the pre-1914 period.
No, it doesn't have wheel hub engines and is not a Mercedes Électrique. It was marketed under the Austro-Daimler label. I don't have a year, but I agree on pre-WW I. Locked for one more try.
Okay, I seem to have gone off on a tangent (the wrong one) with this puzzle.
I think it should simply be an Austro-Daimler Elektrobus.
I couldn't pinpoint the exact photo on-line but found this instead -
That's exactly what it is. One more point for you.
Another Austro-Daimler Elektrobus:
