As I don't have any clue about the replica on the picture I will declare this puzzle solved. However, if anybody can prove what it is, there will be an extra point available.
In the meantime, I found the car and it appears it has been restored.
The photos are too small and cannot be easily duplicated here.

You can see the car in its current state of restoration when you google "Steyr 530 Burg Strechau".
I think this is the restored car in question...please forgive the image quality....I had to settle for a compromise between size and quality and both suffered.
