A man's personal dream car.
For one point, please respond and identify this car by telling base car, builder and the year.
up
Is this an American homebuilt dream car?
No
Advertising car made on Fiat by Boneschi.
autobleu-based?
Neither Fiat nor Autobleu-based
Is this a Swedish dream car?
No
Is there any thunderbird base for this car?
I reckon it's more likely to be based on a small rear-engined European car. VW engine ?

Yes, VW-based.
based-on a small Italian car with vw-engine perhaps?
Just based on a plain VW I think.
Besides using a vw engine, was the rest of the entire car his own body design?
I think so
I,ve got a feeling this little gem was built in Germany?
Yes
Did this man build anyother cars?,or is this the only one?
I've seen this picture before but can't remember where, it's very frustrating.
Wasn't it built for advertising some beverage?
Is there a photo of the front, just curious?

No, it wasn't, but there is a beverage-related detail in the car. ;D

None that I know of.
It sort a looks like a little travel bar in the door?
Yes, but I fear it won't help you identifying the car's builder.
its a shame there isn,t more pictures,I do understand your frustration on where you saw the picture, I experience that once in a while,I,ll keep trying just the same.
up again
Does this car ,carry the builders name?
I don't know whether it ever had a proper name, but it is referred to by its builder's name.
oh,man, that could be a million and a half german names,
Fritz Mayer?
Frank Weber?
No to both
He appears to have been a chimney sweep :lmao:

Werner Kugelfisher
No
Thomas Scharwatz?

I've tried every combination of words for Google images, from homemade cars to chimney sweep and everything in between. Nothing. Next stop is to check if his name is Dick van Dyke.
The picture can be found online, but I have to admit that it is not easy to find, although you have all the necessary bits at hand. ;)
got a feeling its headed to the black hole, hopefully not.
Rear lights seem to come from a Ford Taunus 12m..may this be a clue?
I wonder what this car has for an engine,Im guessing 4,cyL?
I did know it had a vw engine, but how many cyL,s that's all

Back in those days when this one was built, all VW engines had 4 cylinders.
pic from ebay?
No, from a VW-related site
looks like it could be 1965?
Earlier
my next guess 1960?
Earlier
1957?
Earlier
So this car is older than it appears, well 1953?
No, but close
1955, the same year I was born?
Between your last two guesses ;)
1954?
Yes
Now that we know the year it's quite easy!!! We can take off the list all Germans born since 1955 till now. ;)
Wow, you weren,t kidding when you said this would be very hard to obtain information on this car ,I can,t find anything.
I,ll take a shot in the dark, was his name Krause?
No, thousands of names left
I try a different approach. Is the site where the pic comes from German?
The picture is not from a German site.
an English-language site?
No, despite its name ;)
french?
Yes, from a French site
let's try to narrow it down a bit. From one of the personal galleries?
No, from a car-related forum
the vintage volkswagen section?
Yes
are you sure? I just waded through 45 pages of topics and couldn't find anything.
Perhaps I misunderstood your last question. I found it on a French forum dedicated to vintage Volkswagens. Which one, you have to find out yourself.
I know the forum (at least I hope I am on the right one), I am asking about the different sections. There are personal galleries, a section for vintage VWs etc. So my question was, which section I'd look into? Personal galleries?
Doesn't sound like the right forum to me. One hint: If the forum doesn't have this picture [attachimg=1]
on its homepage, it's not the right one.
Is this a French forum or a french blog?
They describe themselves as a forum.
I tried a different approach and here we go
En plein dans le mille !
Four screws to hold the body in place ??!! Could be a bit of flexing there, a wee bit of scuttle shake......Best to keep on smooth roads.
Your effort will be rewarded with the obligatory point, Pal. It is Paul Neumann's VW roadster. As far as I know there is no more information available than this single press photo.
Thanks for the point. This Keystone photo agency had a lot of pictures on one-off cars from all over the world. Wonder where's that archive now
