I can say with 95% certainty that it isn't. There was another major car manufacturer involved, though.

No - quite a bit more major than that.
This is actually a bulgarian student project, an 1:1 model (not driveable). Made by students at the Sofia University, and according to Automotorundsport, the Univers Concept project (from 2007) was initiated by DaimlerChrysler. The idea behind the concept, which took more than two years to engineer, was to create an appealing compact car with enough space for 4 or 5 people priced strictly between 7.500 & 8.500 EUR (9.900 – 11.100 USD).

Oops, my bad. I meant to promote a different puzzle and send you a message to merge this with the original.
Maybe I should go back to just trying to solve puzzles - which seem to be very hard all of a sudden!
