Is it perhaps the skeleton for a 1950 Veritas 'Comet' coupé ?

It´s a Komet C"superleggera"-style framework for the aluminium coupé body hull, indeed.

D-type

Just for interest was it "Komet" or "Comet".  I would have expected a German  "K" but a couple of my books use a "C" so I followed their lead.
