What car is this and from when ?
Up !
Front lights remind me a Bmw...is it perhaps a 328?
Touring BMW 328?
sorry Iuvatar, you are on my steps...
Jaguar XK 120 base?
BMW 328 is right, that was the easy part ;), but not enough for a lock. Not Touring by the way and therefore not Jaguar XK.
Bristol-Bmw?
Well it could be a Bristol/BMW, or perhaps a Frazer Nash/BMW, but what it looks like is some sort of Allard/BMW mash-up from the 1948-1953 period.
As well on the left the is a red arrow signal, I suppose the picture has been taken during the Mille Miglia.
In 1947, number 198 identified the Bmw 328, driven by Vicentini-Vicentini. I guess that's the quiz car.
No Bristol, Frazer or Allard connection. I believe the pic is from the Mille Miglia (not 100% sure) but not 1947.
Was it renamed the GPG 2000?
Is it the so called 328 Spider Speciale that took part in '49 Mille Miglia?

My source doesn't call it a 328 Spider Speciale. I have to get back to your earlier reply about Vicentini, after having it checked it appears that driver in the pic is indeed Vicentini, but the pic is said to be from 1948... Anyway, whether '48 or '49, I am still missing a part of the name of this BMW 328
My source said simply that Vicentini and Vicentini took part in MM 1947 with number 198 and that the car was a Bmw 328...no particular name or coachbuilder is named.
Well, then some more digging is needed ;D
Up to the pro's

BMW 328 Volpini from 1948
Yep, that's it, well done. Point added.
My source was slightly wrong. The correct year was 1947.
