I was only being sarcastic!
Since it's only a flight of fancy he might just as well have said it's powered by an impulse engine that can push it to speeds of Warp 10...  If that had been even invented in science-fiction then!
The only time this car might have got off the groud is if it went over a hump-back bridge too quickly!
