Ernest Shackleton, who took the first car (an Arrol-Johnston) to Antarctica in 1907?

Good idea, but it is not Mr. Shackleton.

This man designed and built some very interesting and unconventional cars.

He also was a successful motorcycle driver.

Aargh, 4popoid is right again. I found a picture of Neumann-Neander with exactly this outfit. The picture was taken in 1904, him sitting on a homebuilt motorcycle (Griffon frame and Zedel engine) with which he drove Paris-Rome-Paris twice.
