I also thought that it would be the Opel Corsa Cabrio built by R & R (Robert Maier and Robert Pollner). It was officially offered in Great Britain and Australia, first as ,,Sun + Fun Car", later as ,,Sunny Side". Are you looking for one of these names?

Central European - it is an ordinary Opel Corsa B, that was converted by a small company and officially sold by a national Opel branch.
As I said, there were official Opel brochures for this one.

I don´t know, but in the late 1980´s + early 1990´s many cars were converted into convertibles.

This was the time when the Miata/MX-5 was the only affordable roadster on the market and before the big players have reacted, many small companies sold many ugly cut-open bargain cars.
