This car is a special, made by John Swaab of Amsterdam.
I believe it is Simca based.

Yes :) It's the one and only  Swaab indeed, but it's not Simca based!

Yes, a Talbot-Lago T14 chassis  :applause:

Built in 1957, with a Chevy V8 engine and handmade aluminium bodywork. Still owned and driven by the builder John Swaab (he's 81 years now)

Yes, I recently came across an article about this car. The builder wanted an Aston Martin, but couldn't afford one. He used a 2nd hand Talbot-Lago with a busted engine to realize his dream.

In his mind it wasn't a waste of the Talbot-Lago, because he hated the look of it!  ;D

It's a great looking car.
I believe it was painted gold originally.

What is not mentioned here is that the car originally looked differently; it was an open racer. In my book there is no mention of Talbot-Lago, but Ermini.

Your book is wrong.  :-X Swaab built more then this one car.
This GT always looked the same (apart from the new paint and door mirrors).

Ok, that's cool. I can live with that. If he build more cars (something I cannot find anywhere) then do you know how many?

I know at least of an "Ermini-special" now and this GT.

Do you know where is the car currently? I am also talking to the guy who interviewed Mr Swaab in 2009 but so far I don't have concrete info

It was for sale in 2012/2013 at Dutch Classic Car dealer 'Gallery Aaldering' and has been exported AFAIK. May be you can contact Nico Aaldering
