my problem is if I put in "auto" and "lucht" and focus on 1931 magazines and the illustrated articles - then this one doesn't show up

guido66

I'm pretty certain of where you are looking for the article, but this one is not to be found on that website  ;)

pnegyesi

Was this an article in Nieuwe Leidsche Courant?

Otto Puzzell

I think I found one of its offspring  :D
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

pnegyesi

was it published in the Aalst region?

guido66

It wasn't built in Belgium, nor did I find it in a Belgian newspaper.

pnegyesi

was this published in a Dutch daily?

pnegyesi

published in Amsterdam?

guido66

Not Amsterdam....

pnegyesi

in a big city, like Rotterdam?

guido66

Yes, Rotterdam it is!

so the vehicle was built by Erwin Jungfer in Germany. I found two references in a Dutch electronic library (yes, two):
- one the puzzle picture with the guy's face added
- and a 2nd which provided some details, which I am not sure to be correct. Pls see attachment

Very well done! I haven't come across the photo of the builder, so if you could post it here.

I did find this information on the book he wrote, though. I wonder if it explains how this car works?
