Clutching at straws here, but it looks like a mid-fifties Ghia design and it's on crossply tyres, so something fairly basic underneath. Maybe Simca?

targhediferro

It's middle fifties, but not Ghia design and not a Simca.

Thought it was locked?

OK, that's 24 hours . . .

1954 Peugeot 203 MD(supercharged) bodied by Frua. Built for Maurice Dubois with tuning by Nardi, and shown competing in the 1954 Moroccan Rally.

It was locked for Frederick59, who was right to say this Peugeot is from 1954 and designed by Frua.  Fyreline added the missing parts...but I never said it was locked just for 24 hours :(...so I've to have it for solved by Frederick59.

Good call . . . my bad for not seeing that Frederick59 was who it was locked for.

It appears that a couple of these cars were made (2 or 3?), all slightly different. Certainly wouldn't take it for a Peugeot at first glance.
