Who knows this beauty?

You can get two points for that:

#1: correct basis car

#2: correct designer

Both chassis and bodywork are not french.

But geographically you´re close ;)

Zerk

It's a reach, but... is the chassis Belgian?

grobmotorix

The chassis stems from the bigger neighbor country of both named countries.. ;)

Yes.

Both chassis and the designer were German.

The make is still very well known.

And the designer is named here at autopuzzles several times.

1919 Maybach W1 designed by Karl Maybach?

Schebera by Ernst Neumann-Neander, from about 1926?

grobmotorix

LOCKED for 4popoid!

It is indeed a N² (Neumann Neander) design.

Now I need the correct chassis make and a reasonable year and the point is yours!

4popoid

Thanks for the lock grob.  We have already ruled out many of the chassis associated with Ernst Neumann-Neander, and you say that "the make is still very well known", which I assume to mean that it is a current make.  It has been established that it is a German chassis, and that radiator is pretty distinctive, so I will say: A Mercedes chassis from about 1922.

I´d say you´ve got two more tries, O.K.?

Thanks for the lock extension, grob.  You didn't say whether my interpretation of your comment ("the make is still very well known") indicates that the brand name is still in production, so I will assume that it is, unless instructed otherwise.  If this is a well known German brand that is still active, the possibilities are limited to a very few.  Audi and Mercedes have been eliminated, Porsche and Volkswagen are too new for the puzzle car, so  I believe only BMW and Opel remain.  That distinctive radiator shell doesn't look like any early BMW that I have seen, but it could be an Opel from the early 1920's.  Therefore I'll try Opel from about 1922.

I did this with intention and you were right!

I do not know the exact Opel model, but now this is O.K. with me for the 2 points.

I am not sure if this remarkable bodywork was executed by Schebera.
I know a very similar Neander design based upon an Austro Daimler chassis
that was built by the austrian coachbuilding company Armbruster.

This Opel might be a 40/100PS type?

Hopefully someone might know more details and maybe there are some more photos available of this beauty?

After some deeper digging, I think, this is the same car:
