It is a NSU-based Comtesse ; ca.20 were made in the beginning of the 60s in Germany
-
A very good opening gambit for you on Autopuzzles! Welcome sir and a very well deserved point for a quite obscure car.
My info is that it was made in 1963 by Form in Plastic and based on an NSU Prinz
-
What's this, by whom, based on what, from when - for 1 point?:
Remember - solving puzzles using 'Google Search by Image' is BANNED on AutoPuzzles!

A small run was made, of this one was the original prototype; not exactly an NSU though..

I don't think it was by Bertone, though maybe I can be proved wrong!

This one is due to move up to the Pro's tomorrow but won't even last 5 minutes there.
Sure there's no Expert who can solve this one?

Any Comtesse connection?
-
Any Comtesse connection?
Indeed it is a Comtesse!
So it's locked for you to fill in the other details of exactly what it's based on, who actually built it and when!
-
The Comtesse was based on a NSU Sport-Prinz and built from 1963 to 1965 by a company called Form in Plastic GmbH. The Comtesse was a convertible, the puzzle picture shows it with a hardtop. A front view without hardtop can be seen in the last picture of this post: http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=18009.msg179597#msg179597

Is this a NSU coupé from Kaiserslauternfahrschule fur Karosserie?
-
Sorry targhediferro but Wendax has the right answer!
The car is, I believe, the same one Wendax has provided a link to in another thread, which was not actually the subject of that puzzle in that version (I don't think the subject of that puzzle was ever produced in series).
It is the prototype of the car which was produced in a very small series (as per the photo below) 1963-5 by Form in Plastic GmbH of Munich, but differs from that production car in details such as the front indicators.
I originally thought it was a coupé version, but in fact it is the same car with a hardtop.
Well done and 1 point to Wendax.

Another Comtesse photo, this time with a (slightly pointless) front grille.
