So, a new one. What is this and when was it built?

Allright. The picture comes from that excellent book about Bond by Nick Wotherspoon.
The caption reads:
The Bond Type C 500 cc racing car circa 1948 with Charles Fothergill 'driving'
It's as much fun to scare as to be scared

Correct answer. Monocoque chassis and FWD. Bond cars were always a bit different.
