name that one
300 sel 6.3, AMG
not sure about the engine version
important is who made it
time to move on
Is it Korean, by Ssangyong?
far from that
Is that a W116 or W126 series car with a W108 series front?
You are getting closer
it has a specific model name
according to a article I have found
This is a true Friday-night killer. All I can tell is that the grille and hood of a w108 is blended seamlessly with the hood of a w126. Hence the vanishing wipers and the lack of air scoop at the back of the hood. Everything else I can see speaks of w126: side view mirrors, windshield, dash, etc. I have a w108 and a w126 sitting side-by-side in my driveway which why I was able to spot this and why this is driving me crazy!
i think Youe are completely right but...
who did this?
Styling Garage Mercedes S-Class conversion
locked for You to give me full name of this one
unlock it, please, for some other guy to tell us. I knew about it, but have completely forgotten. Thanks.

unlocked
Does it have a name?
@Delorean: Found the same pic and experienced the same (continued) frustration...I can't wait to learn the answer but I doubt after several search attempts that answer will come from me...
You found that DeLorean (by the way my nick comes from teh name DeLorean - del78)
but according to an article from old magazine it does have a name
let's wait few days more
SGS developed weird W126 conversion
but how they named it?
pros
1000 SGS
not that
Mercedes Benz 300S Styling Garage based on W108 converted into a W126.
Some source called 'Die Sonder Aufbauten' (Special Structures)
"Sonderaufbauten" means something like "special made bodies" or "coachbuilt cars".
"Sonderlich" (> absonderlich) has a completely different meaning. It's more an ironical comment like 'strange' or 'weird' cars/bodies.
as i said in the article this one has a name
we are still looking for the name of this conversion
anyone before I will move it to the black hole?
I've found this word that refers to this car (I don't know german, and google doesn't translate it) 'Nieveaueinsteller'?
the text reads 'Würde auch auf VOR-W116 tippen (verchromtes Zündschloß!) allerdings irritiert mich der Nieveaueinsteller'
"Nieveaueinsteller" is orthographically incorrect, should read "Niveaueinsteller" or better "Niveauregulierung" and describes a self-levelling suspension system. In that forum entry they are discussing to which car a picture of a modified interior might belong (W108/109, W116 or W126), one possibility being the puzzle car.
it is not the name I have
as I wrote this name is very strange for that kind of car :)
it doesn't "fit" to this conversion ;D
I will wait maybe a week and move it to the black hole
"S-Klasse-Romantik-Facelift"?
