For one point please identify the car, when it was built and what engine was fitted.
An extra point is available if you can identify the coachbuilder.

Andrews Ford V8 mid engined?
It is the Andrews V8 Special but not with a Ford engine.
Do you know the year and engine make for the point?

An extra point is available for the coachbuilder.
Locked for you.

SACO

 V8 Chrysler ?
I had a Ford engine but perhaps it is not a one off ?
What is the car behind on the photo ?

woodinsight

Not Chrysler but another well-known American V8.....
The Andrews Special may have had a Ford V8 at one time but my source points at a different engine.

The car behind in your photo may be another one-off or perhaps something like a Frazer-Nash.
Still locked for you as I'm sure you'll guess it. Let me have a year as well.

SACO

Chevrolet V8  ;D but nothing else !

Don't locked

woodinsight

Okay open again to all......
Required engine make and year the car was completed.
An extra point for the coachbuilder.

Can the Pros complete this one?

1949 is correct but not an Oldsmobile V8

I guess you could say this make of engine (popular in its day) was often used in specials of the 1940s/1950s.

Although there is still a point available for the coachbuilder, I'm going to award points to SACO (for the make), Wendax (for the year) and pnegyesi (for the engine).
I'm feeling generous this afternoon but think it fair to award those who contributed correct answers to this difficult puzzle.
SACO becomes a Professional with his point - well done and congratulations!  :applause:
