..Not Austin 7-based but I don't know if it is a Stiletto body or not; it's possible it might be, but that's not actually part of the question (since I don't know the answer!)

Midget, yes - but not P-Type

MG TA base ?

Can't be beaten by the Man from Gitche Gumee - is it one of the 1937 TA models bodied by Peel ?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

No, because....

M type?

Anyone care to be a bit more specific about exactly which MG M-type this is based on and who the builder was, before I move it to the Black Hole?

Your use of words suggests that this is a specific car, perhaps famous in sport at one point. Is it a former "Cream Cracker" car?

It's not based on any specific car that I know of but on a model of which a few were made.

Is it a supercharged M-type from 1932?

An M type is an M type apart from the body and that's been thrown away.
If we are supposed to guess what original body it once had, and you say only a few were made, I bid the Double 12 Replica.
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

Carnut

That's right, the original body was thrown away much to the builder's later regret..
Not a Double 12 Replica.

What about one of the M-types that were entered in the Le Mans 24 hours race in 1930?

No, not one of those..

Not a Double 12 Replica.
But is it the body style we are supposed to find or have you found something mechanical that I can't see either.  It's over 55 years since I had one and happily the memory of it is fading at last.
Nothing in the rear view is M type except perhaps the wheels, and it seems to have knock-on wheels which Ms normally did not.
