This car has appeared on AP before, as part of a group puzzle, but has never had a puzzle of its own.
So what is it, by whom - for 1 point?:

That's right; a foreign body!
BMW? Is this a customized car or a proper coachbuilt car?
Is it a modified (chopped and BAT style rear fenders)Auto Union 3=6 from about 1959?

It might be based on that model; I'm not really sure.

DKW ?
I'm sorry but I missed this reply; since it's correct and the puzzle is still unsolved I'll lock it for Gast1234's next reply to see if he can get the right car based on this information.

OK, open to all Experts and Rookies again..
1 off?
From Scandinavia?
from the Czech?
I must admit, I would never have guessed it was from Belgium.
Built in 1959 by Edmond Pery (one of the founders of Apal) its based on a DKW 3=6 and uses Auto Union 1000 parts.
He called it "Casino Pery"
Unfortunately the front is as ugly as the back :o
Well done!
The front reminds me of the Buick Centurion Concept car a bit:
Hopefully not a repost, although I have a vague feeling that I may have posted this one some years ago (but can't find it on Search).
So, for a point, who made this, in what year, and what mechanical base does it use?
Up a level.
No idea who made it, but the steering wheel shape, the column shift and the wheels suggest to me 1950s Humber Hawk.
Not a Humber Hawk.
Any of the 1950s Rootes cars?
No Rootes roots here at all!
Is it a British base car?
Bumpity-bump..... ;)
Not a British base.
French?
Not French.
Anywhere in Europe?
Yes, the car is European, as is its mechanical base. ;)
No life here for over a month, so now up to the Pros.
German?
DKW by E.Perry (Apal )?

DKW by E.Perry (Apal )?
That's the one. Well done SACO, another point to you for this 1958 creation built by Apal founder E. Pery (only one 'r'), based on DKW running gear.
Is it this one: http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=25881.0 ?
Ah ha, I knew I'd seen it somewhere before, hence my original comment saying that it might be a repost.
My image dates from when Pery was building the car, as the back of the photo I took this from was marked 1958. I was lucky enough to meet Mr Pery in Antwerp a couple of year's ago, and he told me much about his early pre-Apal days, and let me look through some of his old (1950s) photo albums, which was fascinating. Sadly not much extra Puzzle potential though as most of his pre-Apal creations have already been covered.
I guess this should now be merged(?). Thank you.
;)
