No, believe he used it on the road; base isn't Spatz..

Not exactly but close.
What was that car related to?

The Warrior!
And he's McKinley Thompson.

Beaten to it! Based on a Renault R10  with a modified Royalex body.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Yes - PJ gets the point!  Bad luck nicanary; you did add important information which I should perhaps have asked for all along but hadn't..
I thought frederick59 might be getting there with his AMC guess as AMC were connected with Renault at one time, re-badging some Renaults for the US market.
McKinley Thompson was a Ford designer.

Here's the un-retouched puzzle photo:

To AlexFrance's earlier question "any connection to a Nash or Hudson" in a way there is, as via Rambler these ultimately became AMC, which Renault acquired in the late 1970s, with AMC selling the 5 (Le Car) and building the Renault 9 (Alliance) and 11 (Encore) in the USA, plus of course Renault assembling Ramblers in Belgium for selected European markets in the 1960s (and also distributing Jeeps later on).

Think of almost any two car companies, and you can usually find a link between them.  Such fun  ;D!
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.
