I don't know where the wheels came from; they could well be Fiat.
The car is not Fiat-based however.

There is a clear styling clue in the photo which nobody has mentioned yet. If the car is not British, does it come from Italy?

The base is Italian (which you've obviously spotted!) but the car was made elsewhere.

I am willing to share my "clue" with other puzzlers - it's got gullwing doors. Either that, or the highest sills in history.

I know that the puzzle-setter likes to use images that are available on the net, but I can't find this one. Is it Polish?

It's not Polish and the image was sourced from the 'Net!

Oh my word, I think I may have just realised what this is, as it looks vaguely like it.  So, could it be the Alfa Romeo Alfetta-based TH1, built by Garage Herman in France, and (very loosely) inspired by a Ferrari 250 GTO?

Aha - the closet French expert strikes again!
You've got the right car all right;  it's the original prototype with gullwing doors but it does have another name for production (with normal doors).
Locked for you to dig into and come back with.

This has been locked for Djetset for 1 month today.
I can't keep it locked forever though so I'll just keep it locked for 2 more days then someone else might get the chance to earn a point by coming up with the name.

Are you out there Djetset?!

OK, I prefer puzzlers to wait for me to declare the puzzle open but you are right it is the Saga 250 GTO.
