Rera plate looks like british, so I guess it is Ford based, is it?

I have got it as a Buckler known as the DBM by Jack Digby and Monty Baker Munton. It had a 1172 Ford engine with an Aquaplane head

That's the car, yes, although I believe they're not entirely sure it actually is a Buckler..
Its name derives from Digby Baker Munton of course.

I have just read a race report from 1956 which mentions that this car had a laminated-wood body. It looks alloy to me from the photo.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia
