Easy part:  Specify the builder and brand of this car.
Hard part:  Specify the exact model name as shown on the radiator (obscured for puzzle purposes).

Not a Lynx, and the model isn't SS100

Seems like one of those Beetle-based Bugatti 35 replicas modified to vaguely look like an SS Jaguar

Going off the mascot - Jaguar based?

Correct, based on a Jaguar

gilescooperuk

going by the numberplate british - post 1965 base (White number plates) so probably a Series 1 XJ6 base?

Probably based on an XJ.  Not sure which series it would be.

Judging by the implied engine size, the engine may not have come from an XJ.

Was it a home build or based on a production kit?

Probably not a 'home build", or one-off.  The company involved spent many years modifying Jaguars.

One source of information on this car uses the word "kit", but I'm not sure that is accurate.

sixtee5cuda

After looking at the books on my shelf, I have found this car is based on an XJ6, and fewer than 20 were built.

Of the 3 images of this brand I have found, this is the only example with "cycle fenders".

Not a Steedman ST100.  Nor is it a Steadman.

Up!  Time for the Pros to give it a try.

Despite its appearance and layout that's not a British registration (too many numbers).
It could come from some British or ex-British colony somewhere but I don't know where..
Is the car American-built?

Carnut:  I am in the habit of changing the car registrations on my puzzles.  I believe it is a British plate.

LOCKED for Paul Jaray, as this car is a Viking.  Please provide the name of the company which built this car, and the model name assigned.

Paul Jaray

I'll track down the builders...they took the car from Classic Cars of Coventry and then pass it to Leaping Cats, right?

sixtee5cuda

I have it as being built by Leaping Cats, which is the builder name I was looking for.

Still LOCKED

Paul Jaray

380SSR, thank you Steve Hole.  ;)

And the point goes to Paul Jaray.

When I posted the puzzle, I didn't have much info on the car, except knowing the radiator badge said "Viking 380SS...", and the last letter wasn't clearly visible.  I couldn't find much information about the car on the internet, but one of the car books on my shelf provided the 380SSR info.
