It's a Porsche special with 356 mechanicals, but it's not the Wachs Special, which would be a repost.
So, which Porsche special is it, when and by whom was it built and why?!

1953 Porsche Spyder Special built by two guys in Hollywood for the Carrera Panamericana. Volkswagen base. Porsche 356 mechanicals. Currently owned by Chuck Croteau.

Original picture with the Porsche script unmasked.

OK, I'll give you that.
In fact it was built for the 1955 Carrera Panamericana but never raced in it.
It's possible it was built by Kar Kraft in Los Angeles.
