I'm surprised nobody has tried this one. I've just checked and the photos are still available on Google.

It's a British-built special. and not as old as it looks.

So its chassis is English, bigger than an MG but neither Jaguar nor Rover. Based on a Riley ?

You are on the right track. Not a Riley. Still locked.

Postwar chassis ?

This chassis is post-war, although the manufacturer made cars pre-war as well.

I've tried pretty much all relevant English carmakers and I've found nothing.

Is it based on a Triumph chassis ?

Not a Triumph. The maker of the chassis made sporting cars pre-war but high quality touring cars post-war.

It was built by Roger Daniell.

Yes. You worked hard for that one. He built it from a post-war Lagonda chassis (the site doesn't say which model, but I'm guessing a 2.6 or 3-litre) and it was powered by a Jaguar XK140 engine.
