What I want to know is: what's it called and which place is it associated with. And since this is Autopuzzles: what's the base of this creation? All for one point.

Historical site ?
Good question! The answer is yes but it has nothing to do with the 'car'. The 'place'(not a village or a city) played an important part during an important battle in the Netherlands during World War 2.

Majeko

No, later in the war. But not that far from the Grebbeberg.

I've found the original picture which is labelled "De Zwaan Zuiderpark Den Haag". Den Haag is not really close to Arnhem so I'm a bit confused but it's definitely the right answer.

"De Zwaan" was built by Constructiewerkplaats Vogelaar. It was based on Jeep and had a polyester body.

Majeko

Yes, the battle in 1944. But the 'place' is not in Arnhem but a few kilometers outside of Arnhem.

Sorry I've edited my previous post while you were answering. I've found that De Zwaan was also used at Westerbouwing between Oosterbeek and Heveadorp, near Arnhem. This is probably what you were looking for.

Majeko

I'm familiar with the picture of De Zwaan in Den Haag. It was probably taken during a tour. In the fifties, sixties and the early seventies it was used between Oosterbeek and Heveadorp. I was born a few kilometers away and I saw it on a daily basis.

One more point for you!
