Got it! It's the Kiira EV Smack Hybrid Electric and it's being made in Uganda. Can be seen on You Tube.

oko94

Yes ! Just give me the year and the point is yours.

LOCKED for you.

richard cuyler

oko94

No, that's the year of the first Kiira EV prototype which is entirely different from the Kiira EV SMACK. Try again !

Still LOCKED for you.

Oko, I'm afraid I have had enough of looking at the confusing tripe on Techjaja and other websites pertaining to this vehicle  ;D Some of the pictures of the Smack bear no resemblance at all to the crude two-door car pictured, but are still called the 'Smack', so what's what I really can't figure out.  This crazy name represents what I'd like to do to the folks who have been giving such mixed-up details about this vehicle..... :o You'd better  unlock and give the point to someone who has more patience and more free time to explore than I.

oko94

Alright, it's UNLOCKED.

Too bad, because you were really close to completing this puzzle.

Richard is right, this car has the most convoluted and confusing articles on the web about it that I've seen in some time. Different cars, different dates, same names. There are several dates mentioned, 2012 being what appears to be most common for THIS version of the "Smack". At this point I doubt if anyone really cares that much. It's ugly, crude and poorly documented. Probably financed with those Nigerian millions we all are so often promised in our e-mails.

I thought this place was all about obscure cars with convoluted and confusing history  ;)

Anyway, while the whole Kiira story is indeed rather confusing, it seems pretty easy to find when this 2-door EV Smack contraption was unveiled. And I might be the only one but I do care about it.

richard cuyler

Thanks for your affirming opinion, Fyreline - not just me then ;D.

OK, oko, let's have a guess at 2012.

Not 2012.

Look for the first articles dealing with this 2-door EV Smack...the answer is a just a web search away, nothing tricky here.

oko94

I won't move it to the pros. There's an easy point a couple of clicks away, come on experts !

richard cuyler

I found a newspaper article with a picture of this car. The article is dated 2014, but according to the blurb, it's only due to come on stream in 2018. I reckon I deserve a point for all the time I've spent on this, never mind getting the date right! :D :D

oko94

Don't worry, 2014 is the year I was looking for so here is your hard-earned point !

I did too much reading about this car today.  They have (had?) huge plans to mass produce this car.

Kiira describes a drop of water falling from high altitude

SMACK stands for St. Mary's College Kisubi.

The car is supposed to be a hybrid electric vehicle.  If there are batteries in the prototype, they currently do nothing more than start the diesel engine.

Does anybody know where those taillights come from?

Why, do you want to send them back there?!  Good idea if you ask me...!

I'd say Toyota Solara.

Thanks Oko94! I was just wondering because they were obviously from a production car but I couldn't place them and it was bothering me...
