I´ll pass Paul. Next number : 5715 please.
Andrew & John B. Benson from Chicago, Illinois, built a Runabout in 1901.

5715:FIAT FRANCE

Established by Henri-Théodore Pigozzi in November 1934, the company was formed with the intention of building Fiats for the French market. Production would take place at the former Donnet-Zédel factory at Nanterre. Pigozzi actually had a long association with Fiat; in 1922, he had met Giovanni Agnelli, and from this came a lucrative business in returning scrap cars to Turin for recycling. Following this, Pigozzi became responsible for a Fiat distribution chain in France called SAFAF (Société Anonyme Français des Automobiles FIAT), and this was followed by a medium-sized assembly operation based at a plant in Suresnes (on the edge of Paris) which used components imported or built under licence in Paris. From 1928 to 1934, approximately 30,000 of these French FIATs were assembled and sold by Pigozzi.

#9849, my next guess.

I try with Carr.Meteor, settled in Varese in 1946, that realized some streamlined sport cars on Fiat 1100 and Lancia Aprilia bases.
I couldn't go on trying (as you listed 9 names!!!), so I will change and ask for 9845, thank you.

I don't think that it is the Universal Motor Gerät known as Unimog.  May I have another clue ?

I think I need a clue...
Late 50s...probably 1958.

The Mason Motor Car Company was incorporated early in 1906 in Des Moines. It was named for Edward R. Mason, a local attorney who supplied the money. Supplying the two-cylinder car to be built was Fred S. Duesenberg, who with his brother August had opened a garage in town in 1903.

2601 please!

Despite the name, it should be from Italy.

This game should be limited in time.

Targhediferro, Arunas, D-Type, Joao, pnegyesi, Otto Puzzell, Faksta, Allan L, pguillem, Ropat53 and Tom_I, please, try to post at least once a day.
No problem with some of you, that are near the end of it, but for others, keeping this pace, they'll reach 45 numbers in some months!
There's no hurry and advise if you can't, but try to catch up with the others.  ;)

MASON (I):  I hope it's William B. Mason, Boston, Mass. 1899.
My next request is for number 15329, thank you.
p.s. I continue to play and post, even if the best strategy would suggest to wait in order to get jollies offered from other slighty errors (as my BMW-2); quizzers who have posted 2 or 3 answers till now, have many more chances to get a big-one than we have, also because they have no choice limits (for istance,I've no chance to give answers about marques quite sure identified, because they are too near, less than 50 numbers, to my previous answers).   ;)

Paul Jaray

Correct!
A Steamer built in 1899.

Thank you for your suggestions...
I tried to keep this game as fair as possible, but it's always a game and fortunately the biggest part of it is related to sheer luck....
I won't call your nearly missed top makers 'errors': you thought they were in that area but you couldn't be sure...other players may hope that a number before BMW (2) is indeed BMW (1) but it won't be always like that. In the meantime I added quite a number of new makers, to keep this uncertainty.
On the other hand, other players may have just 1 stab to each 'supposed' easy shot, no more than that, and each one will help yet another player.
It's true, if you wait, the list will became more defined, but consider this: when it started, we reached 264 posts in few hours! It means that if a puzzler was far from a PC that day, he would have no chance to catch up with the game.
I knew it was a matter of time but nobody told anyone to rush...I would have done the same you did, it's strangely addictive to post a number and see what turns out, even for me that have just to look in my index to see what it is.
Wendax game is over now, and for sure if he waited more and more he would have reached 1000 before, but I'm sure he enjoyed the game even if there's the chance he won't win... ;)
