I'm getting nowhere. Cobra Kit Car companies are virtually uncountable. Are there any more clues on offer?
You are right, but fortunately this one is not that known...it means that if you find a Cobra manufactuer, starting with A (near the very bottom of the A-named makers, but not Az), named after its builder, it's probably your guy.
Just to give you an idea, this maker is reported in 3 books of mine, ERA, for example, in 6.
I can say that it rymes with something He sure was looking for! (more or less)

Ron Ayers Classic Cars;  Simpsonville, SC?

Not Acadia. It's quite obscure, reported in just 1 book, later become the American importer of a better known French maker, if my list was in Greek, this one will be one of the 1st makers...active just in 1903.
54321: Yes! +50

63558 is a Mercury, and I hope it is Mercury(9).
74625 is a Peugeot.
81477 could be the R.E.-Alfa Romeo driven by Ray Reed (R.E. stood for Ray's Engineering)

I quit 20017 and 30017, too difficult for me.
May I have 50017, 60017 and 70017?

Actually, it was South Carolina. I had to look at a lot of different kit car sites until I found a rather comprehensive one.

Do I get to try three more numbers?

This makers, starts with 'W' and it's the union of 2 surnames Wxxxx & Lxxxxxx. It's not a well documented maker and useful clues may be hard here.

The list of defunct manufacturers doesn't help.  May I have 100100 ?

Paul Jaray

They were WELCH & LAWSON.

I would be surprised, if 62596 weren't a Mercedes-Benz.
Are you sure that you haven't given the name away with #82775? There was a Requa European Motor Company of New York in 1912. Production is doubted.
101101 must be a Willys.
