Toyota HiLux Fortuner?

Paul Jaray

I must confess it's not my kind of vehicles...I don't know the base...I'd like to know the name of it and who designed it.

That is almost certainly based on a 2007-2014 Chevrolet Tahoe, probably in Z71 trim.  The Tahoe (and its brother, the Suburban) is crazy popular here in the U.S.  I don't know the name of the vehicle you posted, or who built it, however.

Chevrolet Suburban with a T-Rex custom grill?

OK, now I can say it's not a Toyota Hilux, a Chevy Tahoe or a Suburban.

oko94

Apart from the plastic bits here and there it looks strangely identical to a Chevrolet Tahoe ... is that a south american copy ?

Paul Jaray

Not Chevrolet Tahoe or Tahoe-based.
It is not a copy but an 'upgraded' version of a well known vehicle.
Not from South American.
Not obscure names involved here.

Paul Jaray

The base vehicle is quite known...(3 letters).
This 'tuned' version was offered for sale with a specific name and the designer is VERY known!
I won't lock it...I need Maker Model & Designer.  ;)

oko94

So is it based on a GMC Yukon ?

Paul Jaray

This is not as hard as it seems.
There was a special 'version' of the Yukon, designed by a pretty known name.
The answer is easily available on the net  ;)

oko94

Is the designer you're looking for specialized in car design, or is he usually working in another field ?

Paul Jaray

What more can I add to help you?
I'll move it soon if no expert is interested.

oko94

Is the designer American ?

(I've looked for Yukon-based specials with many different keywords and I just can't find it)

Paul Jaray

Tomorrow I'll move it to the Pros.
A very known american car designer was behind this conversion of a quite known car.
The answer is out there and easy to grab!

Paul Jaray

Ok, Pros...here you are!

Arunas

I have it as Laforza by Tom Tjaarda.

I was waiting for this one:
2001  Laforza PSV by Tom Tjaarda

"2001 Laforza PSV – Designed to be the ultimate top-of-the-line security SUV, the PSV sported everything from a 455 HP supercharged engine to bulletproof glass, and even run flat tires, while still giving its passengers a premium sound system, a sun roof, and rear bucket seats."

You are too quick for me again Gerd.  I was sitting on this one also.

50% right.  ;)
I was typing from memory on my cellphone.

Wendax has placed a complete answer.
