Couldn't find any real info about this race car besides the name, I presume they are using a Chevrolet small block engine in it?

No, it used a 4.0-litre 304 hp Chrysler (Valiant) six-cylinder engine. It was built by Vicente Formisano in the late 1968. The puzzle picture shows the car in a later stage in much modified form
