I can only give you what I have been able to find so far.

I believe the vehicle/s are Fiat CGE models, based on similar vehicles built at the same time as electric busses.
It is probable that the bodies were made by Viberti, as they supplied most of the bus bodies.  The one reference to a year model I have is 1941.

They were used on the Valtellina Dam Project which was done by AEM, the Milano Power Company.  This project ran from around 1938 into the 1940's.

Below are some more photos of different models.

Quite right...the were used on the Stelvio Filovia (88 km) in Valtellina (I),  in order to build the AEM dam; and they were based on Fiat trucks....can you add the Fiat model? This will be enough for the point.  Locked for Bill

Hi Fabrizio:

OK, more exercise for the tired old brain.

For some reason, the word "filo" found on some of my photos did not register correctly with me and I assumed it meant "File #1/2 etc.".  I found what the word really meant in Italian and once again hit the Google trail.

So, what we have is, I believe, several three axle trucks based on the Fiat 672F bus chassis and one two axle truck based on the Fiat 666 truck chassis.  The other "name" for these vehicles is Filocarri or even Filocamion.

I hope that is what you are looking for.

Thank You, Luciano...........

Always nice to get so many pieces of a puzzle!!.

Also, Frederick59, I am sorry to seem to have taken over your research but I hope you understand that I had solved 95% of the puzzle on the day it was posted but as a Professional, I had to wait until it got to that level to make my answer.

When you reach that level, not too far to go now, you will run into the same situation. ;D
