Seems to have a sad face.
For one point, please respond and identify this bus.
-
up
-
Indian?
-
No
-
Scandinavian?
Bill
-
Yes ;)
-
For the moment, I would say it is Norwegian due to the LHD and most likely a Volvo. I do not know the coachbuilder or the year.
Let me know what you need.
Bill
-
It is neither Norwegian nor Volvo-based.
-
Ah Well, the easy route did not w0rk.
Perhaps a Scania-Vabis Bulldog of about 1936 in Denmark?
Bill
-
Not a Scania-Vabis, but from Denmark.
-
I'm in a playful mood today. Two days in a row of marvelous Spring weather.
Of the three Scandinavian countries, Denmark was the one that was not in love with American trucks and busses nor even Swedish ones. They used a ton of British vehicles, some German and, one at least, of their own. Makes it a bit more difficult to answer the puzzle.
However, even though I did not find your photo, I did find some others and wonder if the bus in question might be a Danish Triangel?
Bill
-
Yes, it is a Triangel from Denmark. To obtain the point, you must tell me its model name and the year.
One small hint: the model name is not a technical one.
Locked for you.
-
All alone here. Not, not easy the last part.
The only "name" I have come up with so far is "Mignon" used on an earlier year bus.
Bill
-
Not Mignon.
-
Well, it was worth a shot.
Thank You for staying up so late and answering my input.
For the moment, I have exhausted my immediate reference possibilities so please unlock in case someone else has a possible solution.
Bill

As you wish:
Unlocked and open for all Rookies and Experts.

Well, spent some time this morning polishing my Danish language skills.
How about "Golden Bus", or "Gold bus" with a year of about 1936.
Bill
-
No to both
-
More time spent in Denmark.
This is perhaps not what you are looking for, but it seems they had the generic name "Trambus".
Any closer?
Bill
-
Sorry, no.
-
More Danish lessons. Another source, another name.
I have found a reference that says the "Bulldog" or COE Triangel trucks and busses were also called "Special".
Any closer?
Bill
-
No, but it is an animal name, not Bulldog though.
-
More Danish lessons. I am getting pretty good at this.
Populaert kaldet "Elephant" typen.................
Any closer yet?
Bill
-
Yes, it is a Triangel Elefant. Give me an approximate year, and the point is yours.
-
Sorry for not spelling Elefant properly, sometimes I forget. Found that sentence buried in a veeeery long paragraph on a Danish historical site.
As to the year, of the dozens of photos I found on the net, maybe 3 or 4 had the year model in the description and I never did see your puzzle vehicle. As far as I can tell, that style was manufactured from 1935 to 1938 and we have already eliminated 1936. It looks a bit more modern than 1935 so I can only guess at 1937 at this point.
Bill
-
Well, the time range you have given is close enough. It is from 1934.
One more point for you.
-
Thank You, Kind Sir.

How very strange - it does actually have an elephantine look about it!
