Well that turned out to be much easier than expected.  Just Google "1925 Targa Florio" (1925 chosen purely at random) and there it is.  It's the Number 19 Gockerell, driven by Friedrick Gockerell.

Yes, this car was equipped with a five-litre six-cylinder engine, quite unusual for Gockerell who rather fancied small two-stroke engines.
