Yes, the company was Erdmann, the brand had a different name. Locked for you to name the brand, an approximate year and the purpose of this car.

Friedrich Erdmann manufactured the FEG-Wagen between 1904-1908 in Gera.
This looks like the bigger models, which used a 22 hp Horch engine.
A uniqure feature was the friction drive, which was engaged only during starts and when driving on hills. During normal operations the power was transmitted directly through the cardan shaft to the rear wheels.
I assume the picture is from 1906-1907

All correct. I won't torture you about the purpose, because the ad you attached mentioned it. The puzzle car was a "Motor-Taxameter", thus a taxi, from 1906.
