An easy Rookie point. Who built this car, when and who was the customer?

Was it made in the USA?

Found it!

It's quite an historically important car since it is believed to be the very first car manufactured in Los Angeles, USA. It was made in 1897 by Erie and Sturgis. The passenger is probably Boyle Workman, a famous banker of his time, but I don't think we can call him a 'customer' since that car never went into production and was not sold to anyone.

The passenger is William Workman, former Los Angeles mayor and the father of Boyle Workman (who was only about 30 years old at that time).
