A big fire engine.

For one point, please respond and identify this truck.

Interesting challenge!

IFA S4000?

Wendax

IFA is correct, but not an S4000.
Locked for you for one more try.

Bill Murray

The other possibility I had was a G-5.

Wendax

Not a G5.

Unlocked and open for all again.

And only seconds behind, I agree, an H6, about the last IFA conventional (bonneted) truck left.

Sorry, I missed one model, the H3 and I believe that is the run of conventional IFA trucks.

Not an H3 either. Remember it is AutoPuzzles!  ;D

Might this be the prototype (1957?) IFA N7-DL30 ladder truck, which, I believe, was the only one ever produced?

Bill Murray

Or, a Dl25 which I also just found.

Yes, it is the IFA N7 prototype, its construction was begun in 1956. DL30 resp. DL25 is the abbreviation for the ladders used (DL = Drehleiter = turning ladder; the number is the length in metres).
One more point for you.

A tip of the hat to 4popoid.
Not an easy puzzle in spite of the relative speed it was solved within once the IFA connection was made.
Probably a reflection on the East German economy of the time, most all of each different model looked pretty much the same to me.  One basic style, no real "styling" .
